Stella McCartney’s first menswear collection to be revealed this fall
As announced by FashionMag in May, Stella McCartney is launching into menswear. The British fashion label was created in October 2001 as a joint-venture with the Kering group and has heralded its new menswear project in a press release. For the occasion, the label will modify its presentation format.
Stella McCartney is waiving a traditional kind of show, instead showcasing its very first menswear collection at a special event in London on 10th November. The event will also feature the designer’s latest womenswear collection for Spring 2017, in parallel with the products’ availability on the market: early November for the women’s collection, and early December for the men’s.
The show for the womenswear collection for Summer 2017 will instead be held, as in previous seasons, during Paris Fashion Week on 3rd October.
Stella McCartney’s men’s’ line will adopt “a modern approach, encouraging a timeless selection of clothes, while respecting the ethics of responsibility and sustainability which distinguish the brand,” the brand stated.
The collection will also feature some of the renowned ‘fur-free’ and ‘leather-free’ garments and accessories, first launched by the eponymous designer in 2013.
The men’s collection will be distributed via Stella McCartney’s new Parisian showroom, set to relocate to the Saint-Germain-des-Prés area at the end of June. A choice of items will also be available at selected Stella McCartney stores, on the brand’s website and at major multi-brand stores.
Among the label’s other novelties, the launch next summer of a brand new Stella McCartney swimwear line and that of its latest fragrance, POP.
Also, the label stated in the press release that Stella McCartney was called upon once again by Adidas to act as creative director for the Great Britain team taking part in the Rio Olympic Games in early August.
